HVE Library
Did you know that 35% of the titles in the HVE library were purchased before 2016 and many of those "newer" books were not returned as a result of the pandemic or came back in bad shape? With no book fair during this school year, the PTO designed the virtual Read-A-Thon to promote reading, help the library, and collect funds for grade enrichment activities like virtual field trips. Following Read-A-Thon, the PTO allocated a $10,000 stipend for purchasing new books. Check out the pictures below of new books rolling in!
If you are in the position to help the HVE library, please check out the HVE Library wishlist. Here are some fun facts about the HVE Library. The most checked out books:
Early readers: Ride, Fly Guy, Ride
Short chapters: Minecraft Essential Handbook
Fiction: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball
Everyone: I Lost My Tooth

A Day In the Life
If you are new to HVE kindergarten or first grade, we know that your experience has been limited by the pandemic. We've heard many parents and caregivers asking for more information about day-to-day classroom activities of our youngest students. In response, the PTO partnered with HVE's kindy and first grade teams to bring you short videos about your child's kindergarten and first grade day. Enjoy these peeks into the classroom.
