Please Join the PTO

Your PTO membership helps cover the costs of a variety of academic activities, school programs, educational materials and recreational equipment for students and teachers. It also helps support appreciation events for staff and miscellaneous expenses that arise throughout the school year.  

While volunteers are always welcome, joining the PTO is NOT a commitment to volunteer nor does it mean you will be forever handing over your hard-earned dollars. Instead, your membership shows support for HVE and gives you more ability to have a voice when it comes to our school community’s needs. Ultimately, the PTO exists to help increase parent and teacher engagement as we together find ways to support our students in the classroom and beyond.

This school year, we are pleased to offer several PTO membership options. To decide which option is best for your family, please review the information below and then head to our membership page to officially join our team:

General PTO memberships ensure you receive a monthly newsletter to your inbox and emailed correspondence related to events and volunteer needs. General membership also ensures you have a vote when it comes to decision-making motions at PTO meetings. This includes teacher memberships, basic memberships, family memberships, and even some limited scholarships. These memberships range from $10-$18, depending on type. 

For those who support the efforts of PTO, but can't feasibly devote much time or effort to the cause, there are some additional ways you can help the organization's mission.

Option 1: $100

Receive the monthly PTO newsletter directly to your inbox, so you can stay in the know should you elect to plug back in from time to time, but we will withhold any additional correspondence so as not to overload you. This is a great option for parents who know they can’t give too much time, but do want to pick and choose.

Option 2: $150
Say no more! We get it. Sometimes, one more thing feels like it will send you over the edge. If you’d like to help support PTO, this one-time donation will give you a chance to help us get some basics covered and then we will totally give you the space you need. PTO will not email you monthly newsletters or send any additional correspondence. You may hear about some upcoming initiatives from your student’s teachers if they do a classroom newsletter, but you won’t hear from us. But…should you ever want to reconnect during the year, we’ll be right here – just let one of the board members know of your wishes and we will add your email back to the list.

Generally speaking, PTO dues are an important source of fundraising as we use this money to fund basic programs and activities at HVE. Your membership will fund and organize enrichment programs such as assemblies, field trips, and other activities throughout the year, organize and purchase gifts for teacher appreciation, provide classroom supplements and materials, and help support special family events at school. We are also officially a 501(c)(3), therefore, your membership is tax deductible.

The PTO’s goal is to have 100% membership, not only so we have the capacity to truly make a difference in our school community, but to amplify the personal connection between members.
