Jog-a-thon (JAT) is one of the best traditions at Happy Valley Elementary, and it’s one of our school’s BIGGEST fundraisers of the year!
What is Jog-A-Thon?
HVE's Jog-A-Thon is a run/walk fundraising event that happens during the school day. Students in each grade have the opportunity to jog or walk around the track next to the middle school, as many times as possible. For every lap completed, students will have the opportunity to earn money for their school by securing pledges from family, neighbors, and friends. Monies raised helps support such efforts as updating and enhancing the school playground or purchasing items for the library, classrooms, or greater school building.
Prizes, prizes, prizes!
As we prepare for the big day, we’re asking for your help in securing prizes to help motivate students and encourage participation. We have historically awarded prizes for the following:
- The class with the most completed laps for each grade
- The class with the most funds raised for each grade
- Student(s) with the most laps completed each grade
- Top student fundraiser each grade
- We also enter every student who participates in the Jog-a-Thon in a drawing to win a GRAND PRIZE.
Gift cards or gift certificates to kid-friendly places are perfect choices, and popular electronics such as a new iPads, tablets, Nintendo Switches, or headsets are always a hit. If you have any connections or can donate a prize, please contact HVEPTOEvents@gmail.com.
Volunteer at the event!
We are also looking for parent volunteers who would be interested in supporting the day-of-event activities as well, so if you’re interested, please contact HVEPTOvolunteers@gmail.com.
How to raise funds
Donations will be collected using 99Pledges. As we get closer to the event, parents will receive an email welcoming their student(s) to the Jog-a-Thon with all the need-to-know details. Funds can be collected as a one-time participation amount or for the number of laps completed.
More details will be provided as we get closer to the event, so keep an eye out for emails from the PTO. In the meantime, questions can be directed to HVEPTOEvents@gmail.com.
